Meeting with Prof  Dhande  Director IIT Kanpur

IIT EU Alumni Association has been promoting a sponsorship by France of one of the new higher educational institution - IIT Rajsthan, actively since last year . We have already seen the long term advantages of American  and German sponsorship of other IIT. We feel it will bring French educational system and industries closer to IIT culture and its students. Our input to India's future will also find a well-tuned conduit while our industries will also benefit of this rapprochement.

Though this IIT is already officially operational since September 2008, it still does not have a campus. The site is also not altogether decided, though it looks Jaipur is being favored. IIT Kanpur and its director Prof Dhande are playing the role of mentor and nurturing IIT Rajasthan in its Kanpur campus.

To take this process farther, Prof Dhande is invited to France next week by the Ministry of Education, France. We think it is the right time to express our support and suggest ideas.  Having had long professional experiences in France and India, I'm sure we can discuss with Prof Dhande, what we can do to support this endeavor.
