The discussions were centred on better preparing students for successful careers either in industry or research. One possibility is for the Indian student to work on an industrial problem, proposed by a European or Indian industry under the guidance of an Indian professor. This can take place either in a European institution or on the industry premises. Reciprocally, a French student can follow a similar program working with a French professor. It is proposed that one professor each from India and Europe come together to drive each project. They will choose the student and decide the program. The attending students also expressed genuine interest on the projects presented on the IIT-EU website.
Follow-up Actions:
- To improve the Web site IIT-EU, with indications of details concerning the training courses suggested and the methods.
- Engage in further discussion with interested professors & students and enable professors from EU/India to jointly propose a framework including work and financing.
